Crazy Horse Memorial The Crazy Horse Memorial is an ongoing memorial project in dedication to Crazy Horse, legendary chief of the Lakota Indians. The face of the chief was carved out of mountain rock and completed in 1998, at nine story's high. When the whole project is complete it will be the worlds largest mountain carving at 563 feet high and 641 feet long. Four Mile Old West Town is located in Pleasant Valley, four miles west Custer. This living museum depicts life in the early 1800s, when the Black Hills were first settled.
