This beautiful 111-mi (178-km) multi-use trail is the longest trail in the Black Hills and is popular with hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers (although some short sections are off limits to mountain biking). Traversing the length of the South Dakota Black Hills from north to south, the trail winds between Bear Butte State Park and Wind Cave National Park, passing through Custer State Park for 22 mi (35-km) along the way. This easy to moderate trail has an elevation of 3,200 to 5,600 ft (975 to 1,706 m).
